Prague bourse weakens again, dragged down by Komercni banka, Moneta

Prague, Feb 6 (CTK) - The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) weakened for the second consecutive day today after reaching a new high on Wednesday, with the PX index down 0.6 percent to 2,759.4 points, dragged down by shares of Komercni banka, Moneta Money Bank and insurance company VIG, according to the bourse's website.

On Wednesday, the PX index surpassed the 2800-point mark for the first time and reached a record high of 2,804.83 points.

Trading volume remained above the long-term average today, at around CZK980m. The most traded title was Komercni banka, which accounted for CZK441m, said Wood & Company broker Barbora Zelena. The bank released its results for last year today, showing that profit attributable to shareholders rose by 4.7 percent year-on-year to CZK18.1bn. Total revenues rose by 0.2 percent to CZK36.9bn. The bank's board is proposing a dividend of CZK95.60 per share, corresponding the full amount of net profit.

Komercni banka's shares weakened 1.5 percent to CZK1,245, arms maker Colt lost 1.33 percent to CZK813 and Moneta fell 0.48 percent to CZK208. VIG wrote off 2.08 percent to CZK1,598, while tobacco company Philip Morris lost 0.25 percent to CZK20,000 and solar power plant maker Photon Energy dropped 1.15 percent to CZK10.30. Metallurgical company Gevorkyan posted a 0.85 percent loss to CZK234.

On the other hand, Erste Group Bank shares fared well, rising 0.54 percent to CZK2,608 today. Energy group CEZ also returned to gains, up 0.33 percent to CZK1,220. Engineering company Doosan Skoda Power added 1.6 percent to CZK412 and beverage maker Kofola gained 0.42 percent to CZK480. Drone maker Primoco shares were again flat at CZK1,080.
