Prague bourse firms, boosted by Erste, Moneta

Prague, Feb 9 (CTK) - The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) strengthened today, its headline PX index adding 0.48 percent to 2,772.57 points, driven by the growth Erste Bank and Moneta Money Bank shares, according to data from the bourse's website.

Half of the main issues ended today's trading in the black. The remainder weakened or stagnated. Gainers included Erste and Moneta, which were among the shares traded in the largest volumes. Erste shares rose by 1.23 percent to 2,640 points, Moneta shares by 0.72 percent to CZK209.50.

The most significant growth was achieved by insurer VIG, which gained 2.50 percent to CZK1,638.

The growth of the entire stock exchange was slowed down by the weakening of the two most traded issues, Komercni banka and energy company CEZ. Komercni banka shares fell by 0.80 percent to CZK1,235 and CEZ lost 0.90 percent to CZK1,209.

The biggest drop was seen by engineering company Doosan Skoda Power, which slid by 1.46 percent to CZK406.
