Strnad tops Czech billionaires with USD31.1bn fortune - Forbes

New York/Prague, March 11 (CTK) - Michal Strnad, owner of the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) arms manufacturer, is the richest Czech, his net worth amounting USD31.1bn (over CZK653bn), according to this year's ranking of the US magazine Forbes.

Since CSG 's IPO, the value of Strnad's assets has multiplied sevenfold, according to the ranking. Strnad has thus moved ahead of Renata Kellnerova, the heiress of the PPF investment group. As the 69th richest person on the planet, he is the only Czech in the top 100.

According to Forbes, the richest person in the world is Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and start-up xAI. The magazine estimates his net worth at USD839bn.

Forbes's list ranks people with assets worth at least one billion dollars. A total of 11 Czechs are included in the list. Rene Holecek, the largest shareholder of the Czech arms manufacturer Colt CZ (until 2022 Ceska zbrojovka), has newly entered the list in 2,858th place. The magazine estimates his fortune at USD1.3bn.

Kellnerova was ranked 131st by the magazine, with an estimated net worth of USD20.2bn.

The third richest Czech and 316th richest person in the world is Karel Komarek, owner of the KKCG investment group, with a net worth of USD103bn, according to Forbes.

Next, in 323rd place, is Daniel Kretinsky, owner of energy and industry group Energeticky a prumyslovy holding (EPH), with assets worth USD10.2 billion.

Pavel Tykac, owner of the energy group Sev.en AG, is the 383rd richest person in the world with an estimated fortune of USD9.1bn.

Forbes also included Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis in the ranking, placing him in 934th place with an estimated fortune of USD4.6bn.
