Komercni banka to pay out dividend of CZK95.60 per share

Prague, April 23 (CTK) - Komercni banka (KB) shareholders at today's general meeting approved the board of directors' proposal to pay out a dividend of CZK95.60 per share before tax, representing the bank's entire net profit for last year, the bank spokeswoman Zuzana Cepelkova said.

The majority shareholder of KB, with a 60.4 percent stake, is the French bank Societe Generale. Komercni banka has over 70,000 shareholders, most of whom are Czech citizens.

"It is a slightly higher amount than the market had expected, so it is good news. Based on the current market price, this translates to a gross dividend yield of over 8 percent, making Komercni banka an attractive dividend stock," Cyrrus portfolio manager Tomas Pfeiler told CTK.

Shareholders who own shares in the bank as of May 5, 2026, will be entitled to the dividend. The payment date has been set for May 25, 2026. Last year, Komercni banka's net profit rose by 4.7 percent year-on-year to CZK18.2bn.

For 2024, the dividend was CZK91.30 per share, also drawn from the full annual profit.

The dividend will be paid from last year's profit of CZK16.3bn and from retained earnings of CZK1.865bn. The total amount of profit to be distributed to shareholders thus amounts to CZK18.169bn.

Shareholders also approved an amendment to the bank's articles of association, under which the number of members of the supervisory board will increase from nine to 12. The general meeting elected Cecile Bartenieff, Herve Audren de Kerdrel, Bruno Delas and Pierre Villeroy de Galhau as members of the supervisory board.

Shares of Komercni banka, one of the largest financial institutions in the Czech Republic, are traded on the Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP).
