Prague bourse slightly weaker, PX index dragged down by Erste

Prague, March 25 (CTK) - The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) weakened slightly today, with the PX index falling by 0.15 percent to 2,116.20 points after Monday's record close, and the market was dragged down mainly by shares of Austria's Erste Bank, the BCPP said on its website.

Erste shares gave up most of Monday's gains.

Among the other blue chips, Moneta Money Bank was slightly worse off, energy company CEZ kept its share price unchanged, Komercni banka closed near Monday's close and Austrian insurer VIG reported a 1 percent improvement.

The trading volume was lower compared to Monday, however, about Kc520m of shares changed hands, which was an above-average result, said Vladimir Vavra, a broker at Wood & Company.

Erste Bank fell back below Kc1,700, having written down 1.75 percent to Kc1,680 per share. Moneta fell by 0.13 percent to Kc148.20.

CEZ shares were flat at Kc1,110 per unit.

Komercni banka improved by a marginal 0.09 percent to Kc1,103 and VIG rose by 1 percent to Kc1,014 apiece.

Among smaller issues, tobacco company Philip Morris, arms maker Colt CZ and engineering company Doosan Skoda Power all gained around 0.5 percent. Philip Morris ended today's trading at Kc17,760 per share, Colt CZ at Kc769 and Doosan at Kc335 per unit.

On the other hand, solar power plant builder Photon Energy wrote off 1.35 percent to Kc22, drone maker Primoco UAV 0.57 percent to Kc875 and beverage maker Kofola 0.22 percent to Kc448 per share.
