PPF allowed to use O2 trademark for another 15 yrs

Prague, Jan 22 (CTK) - The PPF group will be able to use the O2 trademark for another 15 years as it has obtained a licence extension from Spanish operator Telefonica, O2 Czech Republic said in an investor report and server Lupa.cz reported.

PPF has held the licence since 2013, when it acquired the Czech branch of O2.

The licence was supposed to expire on January 28, 2022, but has been renewed until December 31, 2036, O2 Czech Republic said.

PPF had already extended the licence in 2017, paying roughly Kc900m for three years of use at the time. The price for the most recent extension has not been disclosed, Lupa.cz said.

O2 Czech Republic is a member of PPF Telecom Group, which also comprises CETIN, and Telenor assets in Serbia, Hungary, Montenegro and Bulgaria. PPF uses the Telenor trademark based on a licence as well.
