The Prague Stock Exchange considers 2025 to be one of the most successful years in its modern history
The year 2025 ranks among the exceptionally strong periods for the Prague Stock Exchange. The domestic capital market confirmed its growing attractiveness for investors and issuers, both in terms of index performance and trading activity and the primary market.
Both the main PX index and the PX-TR dividend index reached historic highs during the year. The PX-TR dividend index has strengthened by more than 55% since the beginning of the year, and the PX index by 47%. The PX-TR is one of the fastest-growing indices in Europe, significantly outperforming global stock benchmarks, confirming the long-term strong performance of Czech dividend stocks. The compound average growth of the PX-TR index over the past 10 years is 17%.
Trading also performed very well. The total volume of trades is the highest since 2012, reaching over CZK 206 billion. The most dynamic growth was seen in stock trades, whose volume increased by 51% year-on-year (YTD CZK 163 billion). This was followed by qualified investor funds with growth of 43% (CZK 31 billion YTD) and bonds with a year-on-year increase in trading volume of 1% (CZK 11 billion YTD).
2025 was also a successful year in terms of primary market development (IPOs). Two new share issues entered the Prague Stock Exchange – Doosan Škoda Power on the regulated Prime market and M2C on the Start market, intended for small and medium-sized companies. Thanks to the new share issues, Prague became the 7th largest market in Europe in terms of the volume of newly subscribed share capital.
The bond market also played a significant role. Companies raised a total of CZK 49 billion in 2025 through new corporate bond issues, confirming the important role of the stock exchange as a source of financing for Czech companies.
"The year 2025 confirms that the Czech capital market has a lot to offer investors and companies. Record index values, strong growth in trading activity, and successful new issues are proof of growing confidence in the Prague Stock Exchange. I am pleased that we are succeeding in strengthening its importance not only on a regional but also on a European scale," said Petr Koblic, CEO of the Prague Stock Exchange.
